Pro Services Inc. to Create 250 Union Jobs in Portage Expansion

Major Investment Aims to Strengthen Local Economy and Skilled Trades Workforce

Pro Services Inc., a leading multi-skilled trades contractor, has announced a significant expansion in Portage, Michigan, set to create at least 250 new union jobs.

This initiative underscores the company's commitment to bolstering the local economy and addressing the growing demand for skilled trades professionals.

Founded in 1987, Pro Services Inc. specializes in installation, maintenance, and workforce solutions for industrial, commercial, and residential clients nationwide.

The company's decision to expand in its hometown reflects a deep-rooted dedication to the Portage community.

President and CFO Josh Jelenek emphasized the importance of this growth, stating, "We know that manufacturing and maintenance is the lifeblood of America. So we are heavily investing in this area, to help America, and help this region continue to attract the best jobs and the best companies, right here to Kalamazoo and Portage."

The expansion is supported by a $1.25 million performance-based grant from the Michigan Business Development Program.

In total, Pro Services Inc. plans to invest $12.4 million into the area, including expanding their headquarters to a new location at Tech Park Way in Portage.

These new positions will offer competitive wages starting at approximately $28 per hour, accompanied by comprehensive benefits.

As union jobs, they provide additional security and advantages for employees.

Pro Services Inc. has already commenced the hiring process to fill these roles.

Interested candidates are encouraged to apply promptly to take advantage of these opportunities.

Founder Michael VandeMaele expressed his personal connection to the area, saying, "Why Portage? I was born and raised in Portage. I went to Portage Central High School, that’s where I got my education. I love Portage."

The expansion is projected to span three to five years, during which the company will not only enhance its facilities but also contribute significantly to the local economy.

By creating these union jobs, Pro Services Inc. aims to address the skilled trades gap and support the region's manufacturing sector.

For more information on employment opportunities and the company's expansion plans, prospective applicants can visit Pro Services Inc.'s official channels.

This development marks a substantial investment in the future of Portage and its residents, reinforcing the city's position as a hub for skilled trades and manufacturing excellence.
